houston. i ride across this bridge to access some fun, man made features across the water, and have enjoyed this view for some time. while i was shooting this, 3 young men, probably gang affiliated, eyed my cameras and equipment bag, looked at the surroundings, and thought to themselves, there’s no one around, he’s under the freeway, and it’s dark. they continued to glare from above, but i was not really gonna give in to their young toughness, although i’ve gotten a bit wiser as the years progress. i let them call out a few more times, removed one earphone, and said…. howdy! what, man? was the response, so i said it again. sometimes kindness overpowers young toughness. and i got the shot!
