paris. 1987. 6th arrondissement. there was a small alley that i used to walk through to bypass a busy street, and it offered a short cut as well. this particular day, the way the hose had been loosely coiled with the dust pan behind just called to me. while i lived in paris, i never had the time to print my personal work, as i was busy with school. years later, at least 5, i started to print images from france and my travels. after seeing the results, i was excited about continuing the series. i’ve returned just once to this place and it has been renovated with modern equipment and the wall is covered with lush green ivy, but it lacks anything that says it’s whereabouts. sometimes it’s better the first time.
