circa late 1990’s. across the rio grande. after an easy illegal crossing in a very small boat, it was time to find some cold beverages. the ride into the cantina was just part of the experience. for a dollar or so, you can/could beat the long, hot hike into the little village on a burro, grab some cervezas and tacos, mingle with some great local folks and get back, without ever having your papers checked. i wonder if the mexican government is as lenient ?
