new mexico. circa 1980’s, when polaroid produced polapan. wandering the backroads in northern new mexico, i made my way towards the taos pueblo area after a fresh morning snowfall. (this film, which was a 35mm b/w transparency film, needed a special machine to process it, it then became a completely portable system. i shot this film almost exclusively for quite some time.) back to taos. always enchanted with the native american indians and their way of life, i spent the morning photographing the taos church, probably one of the most photographed buildings in new mexico. no matter. this is one in a series that navigates completely around the church, watching the architecture flow gracefully from the ground to the sky. those indians were pretty savvy..
