curva, bolivia. at the onset of a climbing trip down to the bolivian andes, we had decided to do a 5 day acclimatization trek from curva to pelechuco, which climbs to about 17,000+ feet. the trek was to start in curva, which, from la paz, is an affair in itself. after a 12 hour 4×4 trip in an ever reliable early ’80’s toyota landcruiser wagon, we found ourselves dropped off in one of the remotest villages in the bolivian mountains. after getting settled, i decided that i needed to do some exploring on my own. i came across this wonderful man, who spoke nothing but quechuan, and was able to take several portraits of him aside his front door. i find that language is no barrier for nice people.
